Britney Spears’ friends and family ‘planned an intervention’ after fearing ‘she could die’ with her ‘volatile’ behavior

Friends of the 41-year-old Toxic songstress have been planning an intervention with her, TMZ revealed on Tuesday.

One source shockingly claimed Britney had been taking drugs that "hype her up," which have contributed to her bizarre outbursts on social media.

The insider added that Britney has been "flying off the handle" both in public and private.

They claimed Britney has stopped taking the medications that help stabilize her mood - and one worried source told TMZ they are "afraid she's gonna die."

They revealed that her manager rented a house in Los Angeles for several months, where they planned to take Britney to meet her husband Sam Asghari, as well as an interventionist, and doctors.

Britney's sister Jamie Lynn and her two sons were reportedly not a part of the plan, however.

According to the source, they hoped Britney would stay at the house for two months to recover through psychological counseling and medical treatments.

The intervention was scheduled for Tuesday, February 7 - but all changed after Britney became "somewhat aware" of the situation.

A source told Page Six that the intervention never took place because it was deemed “unnecessary.”

Adding: “Unfortunately, there is a lot of hysteria in the media right now, but Britney is fine, and much of this has been overblown and grossly distorted."

However, according to sources, Britney did agree to meet with a doctor and had an appointment on Wednesday.

Those close to the Princess of Pop claimed the appointment "went well."

WORRISOME BEHAVIOR

Britney has raised concerns in recent months with unhinged social media posts and questionable behavior in public.

Just last month, she was seen dining at a restaurant near her home where witnesses on-site claimed she was "acting manic."

In video footage from the evening shared by TMZ, Britney could be seen babbling incoherently.

FAN CONCERNS

Also in January, deputies from the Ventura County Sheriff's Department rushed to Britney's home in Thousand Oaks, California to perform a wellness check.

The 41-year-old's Instagram account was deactivated and she had disappeared, leaving fans worried about her.

But a couple of days later, Britney lashed out at her followers, labeling their calls of concern nothing more than a bad prank.

"As everyone knows the police were called to my home based on some prank phone calls," Britney wrote in a lengthy tweet.

"I love and adore my fans but this time things went a little too far and my privacy was invaded."

She continued: "The police never entered my home and when they came to my gate they quickly realized there was no issue and left immediately.

"This felt like I was being gaslit and bullied once the incident made it to the news and being portrayed once again in a poor and unfair light by the media.

"During this time in my life, I truly hope the public and my fans who I care so much about can respect my privacy moving forward.

"All the love, B."

Britney's restrictive conservatorship ended in November 2021 after the far-reaching #FreeBritney movement.

The judge in the case did not order a medical examination before ending the conservatorship, despite requiring doctor consultation for the 13 years prior.
